1-Registration and enrolment process
How do I enrol in a course?

The registration process is structured in the following phases:

  1. Pre-registration
    Applicants must complete the pre-registration form available on the website.
    Pre-registration does not imply an obligation to pay and its purpose is the proper administrative management of enrollment.
  2. Payment formalisation
    After pre-registration, the necessary details will be provided to make the payment by Bank transfer or PayPal.
  3. Access activation
    Once payment has been confirmed, final enrolment will proceed and the following will be sent by email: access credentials to the training platform.

If immediate access is required, proof of payment may be sent by email for verification.

Some training programmes remain permanently available, while others are developed according to specific calls for proposals, depending on the availability of teaching staff.

Yes. Each training course has its own registration number.
However, the same student may take several programmes simultaneously, which are managed independently.

2-Payment methods and guarantees
What payment methods are accepted?

The following modalities are currently being accepted:

Bank transfer (preferred method)

Payment is made by direct transfer to the Technical Courses bank account, the details of which are provided during the registration process.

This modality stands out for:

  • Full administrative and accounting traceability

This is the recommended option for pagos nacionales, dentro de la UE y corporativos.

PayPal

Disponible principalmente para alumnos y entidades ubicadas fuera de la UE.
Payment is made through Technical Courses' corporate PayPal account.

Yes. Bank transfer is a method secure, transparent, and widely used in business and educational settings.
It allows for the correct identification of the issuer and guarantees the accurate assignment of each license plate.

3-Course development and tutorials
What is the tutor's response time?

The teaching staff is available to answer questions on an ongoing basis.
The usual response time is up to 48 business hours, excluding weekends and holidays.

Yes. In order to guarantee personalized attention and adequate follow-up, the maximum number of participants per course is 20 students.

Although continuous dedication is recommended, it is possible to perform a temporary interruption of the course, provided that this is not prolonged.
In such cases, the tutor will provide specific support to facilitate the student's reintegration.

Yes. Students have access to:

  • A specialised tutor on the matter
  • Technical and administrative support
  • Communication channels with other participants through the training platform
4-Duration and certification
Do the courses have a set duration?

Each training programme has an estimated duration and a maximum completion period.
The exact completion date is communicated in the welcome letter sent at the beginning of the course.

In most cases, students complete the training before the deadline.

Yes. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Technical Courses diploma, signed by the Management and the responsible tutor.

The certificate includes:

  • Course name
  • Contents taught
  • Estimated training hours

The estimated issue date is approximately one month after the call for applications has closed.

5-Technical and material requirements

Is advanced computer knowledge required?

No. Only the following are required: basic knowledge of accessing and navigating the Internet.

No. Some of the materials can be downloaded for offline viewing.
An internet connection will be required to access the virtual classroom, complete assessments, submit assignments, and communicate with the tutor.

Yes. Registration gives access to all online training resources.

Unless expressly stated otherwisethe courses do not include commercial software licences.

Students must have:

  • PC
  • internet connection

The platform is accessible from the browser.
For courses related to specific software, it will be necessary to have the corresponding programme available.

6-Teaching staff
Who teaches the courses?

The training programmes are delivered by professionals with proven experience in the relevant technical field, as well as teaching experience.

The tutor performs the following tasks:

  • Support
  • Assessment
  • Individualized follow-up
  • Revitalization of the training process

At the end of the course, students will be able to evaluate both the tutor and the institution.

Pablo Mira-Oteiza

  • Qualification
    Naval and Oceanic Engineer with a degree from the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of La Coruña.

  • Experience in the sector
    He has considerable experience in the conceptual design of ships and devices and in the coordination of basic engineering projects. He has collaborated in the engineering departments of companies such as Navantia, Capgemini and Gabadi on pioneering projects for the naval industry.

  • Areas of expertise
    He is an expert in modelling ship shapes using different software programmes and has designed numerous ship hulls that have subsequently been built. His work involves performing naval architecture calculations and structural calculations using the finite element method.

Carlos Rodriguez Vidal

  • Qualification
    Naval Technical Engineer. Degree in Naval Machinery. Master's Degree in Maritime Engineering and Doctorate from the University of A Coruña. 

  • Experience in the sector
    Spanish Merchant Navy Engineer. He has extensive experience in mechanical design and structural calculations in various engineering companies and technical offices. He has taught the professional module on the organisation of propulsion plant and auxiliary machinery maintenance on ships. He is currently a professor of Naval Engineering at the University of A Coruña. 

  • Areas of expertise
    He has participated in various R&D&I research projects at the Galicia Innovation and Services Centre and the University of La Coruña. He has published several books and technical articles for both national and international scientific journals.

María Isabel Lamas Galdo

  • Qualification
    Doctor of Industrial Engineering from the University of A Coruña. 

  • Experience in the sector

    Since 2008, she has been a lecturer at the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of A Coruña, teaching Industrial Engineering and Naval Engineering courses. She has professional experience in the field of engineering projects.

  • Areas of expertise
    She is the author of several books and numerous articles in scientific journals. She has also participated as a speaker at various national and international engineering conferences.

Miguel Cerrolaza Rivas

  • Qualification
    Doctor of Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

  • Experience in the sector
    Over 30 years of experience in finite element analysis and the use of software for numerical calculation and computer modelling. He is currently a professor at the International University of Valencia (Valencia, Spain) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain).

  • Areas of expertise
    Visiting professor at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris) and the Colorado School of Mines (USA). Author of numerous publications in journals and nearly 10 books in the field. He has been invited to give more than 40 lectures in Europe, Asia, the USA and Latin America.

Santiago Rey García

  • Qualification
    Chief Engineer in the Merchant Navy (professional qualification), Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering from the University of La Coruña.

  • Experience in the sector
    He has extensive experience as an engineer and chief engineer on oil tankers, chemical tankers, ro-pax vessels and deep-sea tugs. He has several years of experience in the operation and maintenance of engine rooms (both steam and diesel), predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance. He currently holds the position of Chief Engineer on deep-sea tugs.

  • Areas of expertise
    FRAMO Hydraulic Systems Operator Certificate. Advanced knowledge of computer control systems, supervision systems, and data acquisition through SCADA systems.
