Neander D-TORQUE 111 diesel outboard motor
Part of the Neander DTorque range of diesel outboard motors, the DTorque 111 is a very compact model developed on an innovative 804 cc aluminium twin-cylinder block, with common rail direct injection and turbocharger supercharging, delivering 50 hp to the propeller shaft. Its name refers to its torque of 111 Nm at 2,500 rpm, a truly high value in relation to its displacement and power. The engine weighs 175 kg, which is somewhat high compared to combustion engines of equivalent power.
This diesel outboard motor is ideal for professional and intensive use, offering high fuel efficiency and extremely low noise levels. To achieve these results, the DTorque 111 has opted for the most advanced technology in terms of mechanics, as it is based on its exclusive engine block called ‘Spaceball’, based on a synchronised double crankshaft connected to two connecting rods per piston. The concept of the system is that the piston moves inside the cylinder in a completely straight line, reducing vibrations and friction losses between the pistons and cylinder liners.
A rough estimate indicates consumption of between 10 and 12 litres of diesel per hour at full speed. This figure is a far cry from the 30 or 40 litres of petrol that a 70 HP outboard motor would consume at 2,000 rpm. This engine therefore offers exceptional autonomy and, thanks to its low vibration and noise levels, makes for less tiring working days and less stress on the engine mechanics and its base.
